Twelve new cases of Covid-19 recorded Friday

(KPL) Twelve people among 1,815 tested for Covid-19 on May 20 have been confirmed positive to the virus.

The new cases included five imported cases in Savannakhet, four local transmissions in Vientiane, two imported cases in Champassak and one in Oudomxay.

With the new cases announced today, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases currently stands at 1,763 including 961 active cases, 800 recoveries, and two deaths.

On Thursday, the government announced the extension of lockdown measures for another 15 days - from May 21-Jun 4, 2021 - with control and prevention measures tightened and eased in some areas.
