The official opening ceremony will take place on February 9 with parades coming from different districts. They will feature entertainers and performances unique to each group and provide attendees with the opportunity to learn about unique aspects of each different group.
Ms Mala said that she expects the number of tourists attending the festival this year to increase from last year to around 600,000 to 700,000.
